A Salt Spray Test is performed to determine the corrosion protection a powder coat will provide. Test samples are powder coated and then an "X" is scribed into the paint (down to the surface). The samples are placed in a Salt Spray Booth, which simulates and accelerates outdoor conditions. This determines the amount of corrosion protection that the paint provides against rust.
